Beautiful little David Campbell Black was born tonight at 7:51pm,
weighing 7 lbs 12 oz and measuring 21 in.
His parents and I have a special relationship, I got to be there and photograph their wedding, and Katy is the author of American Afterlife where she wrote a chapter about the work I did with infant remembrance photography.
So I was deeply moved and filled with joy to have the chance to witness the birth of their first child, as their doula. Katy’s labor was a long and beautiful journey which she navigated with strength and determination. Baby David made it entirely worthwhile — here is a picture from his first hour of life! He has deep wise dark eyes and is so super sweet – congratulations, Katy and Jon!
